Our Mission
Peace Church exists to bring God glory by fulfilling the mission of the church, outlined by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Therefore, we strive to fulfill this mission by being disciples who are working to make disciples. As we search the Bible we find three qualities, we believe, every disciple will have. First, a disciple is someone who has an active relationship with God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. Secondly, a disciple is someone who is being transformed by God’s Word. And third, a disciple is someone who lives as Jesus lived. We live as His hands and feet.
We summarize these three qualities with three words. They are:
- Connect: Disciples have a relationship with God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, as their Savior. We are connected to Him.
- Grow: Disciples grow in Christ-likeness as they read God’s Word and allow God’s Spirit to transform them.
- Serve: Disciples demonstrate love to others as Christ has demonstrated love to us.
These three words align all we are striving to become and all that we do.
